Vice President of Political Affairs

Rachel Conant brings over 20 years of legislative, grassroots, and political action experience to her job as the Vice President of Federal Affairs, Alzheimers Association and Vice President of Political Affairs, Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM). In these roles, she directs all federal public policy efforts and represents the Alzheimer’s Association and AIM before the legislative and executive branches. Rachel oversees the strategic management and operation of AIMs political activities, including AIMs political action committee, AIMPAC as well as AIM’s corporate champions program.

 

During her tenure with the Association and AIM, the federal response to the Alzheimer’s and dementia crisis has reached new levels with historic increases in federal Alzheimer’s and dementia research funding and the passage of landmark legislation including the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act and the Improving HOPE for Alzheimer’s Act.

 

Prior to joining the Alzheimer’s Association and AIM, Rachel was the Associate Director of Government Affairs at the American Nurses Association (ANA) where she advocated ANAs positions and priorities to members of Congress on a variety of nursing and health care related issues. Rachels professional background also includes her work as the Director of Grassroots and Field Operations at the American International Automobile Dealers Association and as the Legislative Director of Grassroots Initiatives for the National Association of Health Underwriters. She also served as a staff member for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Veterans Affairs.
